Chief Engineer and Technology Director

Dr. Swett founded the company in December of 1997, based upon his ideas for low stress flywheel concepts. He is the intellectual source behind the technical innovations on which the Company is founded.

Prior to founding the company, Dr. Swett came from Raytheon Systems Company (formerly Hughes Aircraft Company) where he held the position of Principal Mechanical Engineer, and was responsible for conceptual mechanical design development, and system analysis. He began his career at Hughes Aircraft Company specializing in Applied Mechanics. After General Motors purchased Hughes Aircraft, he was promoted to lead the mechanical design and analysis effort for a hybrid electric vehicle flywheel project, managed by Hughes Research Laboratory in Malibu, California. During his more than twelve years at Hughes/Raytheon, he was awarded the Hughes Masters Fellowship, Hughes Engineer Fellowship, as well as the Hughes Doctoral Fellowship to pursue his graduate studies while continuing his engineering duties at Hughes
